German memorial centre inaugurated in Northern Hungary – PHOTOS
The state secretary for church and minority relations on Thursday inaugurated a memorial centre for ethnic German minorities in northern Hungary, and praised the minority’s “high standards in work, education and raising children”.
Speaking in Kismaros, northern Hungary, Miklós Soltész noted that the German minority in Hungary is currently operating 65 public education institutes and has German language classes in many other establishments.

The memorial centre, which
houses the historical collections of nearby ethnic German localities,
and operates as a venue for cultural events, was created with a 45 million forint government grant (EUR 125,000).
