A 62-year-old man hanged his dog with a string on 2020 January in Baranya county. The court of Siklós sentenced him to 40 days in jail because of animal torture.

According to blikk.hu, the ruling says that the defendant borrowed the 1-year-old bitch to cull his animals from one of his acquaintances. Instead of a proper leash, he used a string. After one day, however, he realized that she would not be suitable for the task because of the dog’s playful behaviour. Therefore, he decided to kill the dog.

Thus, he took her into a grove and hanged on a tree. Finally, the defendant buried the dog a couple of hundred metres away.

The sentence of the court is legally binding.

Is that it? Fourty days?? He “borrowed” the dog. What about its owner? Is he happy his dog was killed?
Its a pure disgrace. When are courts going to treat this type of crime more seriously?

If that so called neighbor did that to my dog, he would have never been found because he would have also been taking a dirt nap. The Hungarian justice system should have sentenced this dog murderer to at least 50 years at hard labor with no possibility of early release. The courts judgement was absurd.
