Orban Congratulates Real Madrid On Champions’ League Win
Budapest, May 27 (MTI) – Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Lorinc Meszaros, president of the Ferenc Puskas Soccer Academy, on Monday congratulated its cooperation partner, Real Madrid and its president Florentino Perez, on the club’s 10th victory in the Champions’ League.
“Let us be among the first to congratulate Real Madrid for its triumphant 10th victory in the Champions’ League … we at Hungary’s Puskas Academy also feel very proud,” said the letter written in Hungarian and Spanish.
It referred to Santiago Bernabeu’s presidency and Ferenc Puskas’ membership of the club, when in 1960 Real Madrid clinched its 5th victory in the European Cup in Glasgow, with Puskas scoring four times.
“Fifty-four years have passed and Real Madrid is again Europe’s best”, the letter said.
The prime minister, who is also a founder of the academy, received an invitation to the match played on Saturday but was unable to be present in Lisbon due to the EP election campaign.
