Hungarian bank OTP is poised to announce the purchase of a big Uzbek bank, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said on Thursday.
Also, it is expected that a Hungarian pharmaceutical investment in a production base there, as well as agreements on water management, the food industry and nuclear energy, will also be announced, Orban said in a video uploaded to Facebook.
The prime minister noted that he is heading a 60-member business delegation, and held bilateral talks with the Uzbek president and his government on business opportunities.
Meanwhile, the issue of sanctions and the war in Ukraine will be on the agenda of a meeting with the leaders of the Turkic states on Thursday evening, Orban noted.
Earlier in the day, Orban held talks with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov in Samarkand, the prime minister’s press chief Bertalan Havasi told MTI.
