Budapest, October 26 (MTI) – A total 23,586 foreign students started courses at 65 Hungarian universities and colleges this autumn, daily Magyar Nemzet said on Monday.
They arrived from more than 160 countries including Germany, Slovakia, Romania and Serbia, as well as Iran and Nigeria, the paper said, citing data from the Central Education Office.
Most of them, 6,797, have enrolled to study general medicine, followed by dentistry chosen by 1,291.
Other popular courses include pharmacology, veterinary medicine and horticulture.
The number of foreign students at Hungarian universities and colleges was 22,504 last autumn and 22,496 in the autumn of 2013, the paper said.
