Parlt lays aside HUF 12bn for stadium projects
(MTI) – Lawmakers laid aside 12 billion forints (EUR 39.9m) for expanding and upgrading 26 stadiums in Hungary late on Monday.
Used by first and second-division soccer teams, 22 stadiums concerned are located in the countryside and four in Budapest.
In addition, next year’s budget, which is expected to go through parliament next Tuesday, will earmark about 21 billion forints for constructing a new stadium in Debrecen (E) and Budapest’s Ferencvaros district, and expanding existing facilities in Szombathely (W), Szekesfehervar (C) and Miskolc’s Diosgyor district (NE).
