Pedestrian dies, hit by car near Budapest Airport

A pedestrian died instantly after being run over by a car early in the evening on Thursday on the road running parallel with Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport, Budapest police (BRFK) said on their website.

The collision happened near Gate D of the airport, the Budapest Transport Centre BKK said, adding that the road section in the area has been closed to traffic in both directions.

BRFK said it is investigating the circumstances of the collision.
