Prime Minister Viktor Orbán met former Czech president Vaclav Klaus at the Castle District premises of the Prime Minister’s Office on Thursday, Orbán’s press chief said.

Klaus, who is attending the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Budapest, congratulated Orbán on his recent election win and his fifth government, Bertalan Havasi told MTI.

Orbán and Klaus discussed the challenges created by the war between Russia and Ukraine and the long-term effects of the conflict.

They also discussed the role of European nation-states and families and the existing threats to them, the importance of shielding children from LGBTQ propaganda, and ambitions to create a federalist Europe.

“Viktor Orbán and I are on the same side of the barricade,” the former Czech president said.
