Polish government: PM Orbán is the most corrupt and pro-Putin politician in Europe

Poland’s President Karol Nawrocki met Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán in Budapest on Monday, triggering criticism from Poland’s pro-EU government, which warned the visit risks undermining European unity and benefiting Russia.
The Polish government does not understand why Nawrocki came to Budapest
The meeting between the two nationalist, Eurosceptic leaders took place behind closed doors and was not followed by any joint press conference or public statement, Polish broadcaster RMF FM reported. Prime Minister Donald Tusk described the visit as “a fatal mistake and confirmation of a dangerous strategy to weaken the EU and strengthen Putin,” as tensions between Poland’s presidency and government again came into view, the Turkish Anadolu news agency wrote.
Criticism intensified over the weekend after news emerged that Nawrocki would travel to Budapest on Polish-Hungarian Friendship Day, an annual event marking historical ties between the two countries. Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski questioned the rationale behind the visit, pointing to Orbán’s stance on Russia. “I’d like to know what Poland’s interest is in supporting the most corrupt and pro-Putin politician in Europe,” Sikorski said, referring to the Hungarian leader’s repeated blocking of EU sanctions on Moscow.
Government figures also suggested the visit could be interpreted as indirect support for Orban’s ruling Fidesz party ahead of parliamentary elections scheduled for next month.
No endorsement for Orbán
Nawrocki did not publicly endorse Orbán during his visit. Earlier in the day, speaking alongside Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok in Poland, Nawrocki stressed that Warsaw and Budapest do not align on all issues. “For Poland, Vladimir Putin and Russia pose an existential threat,” he said. “Poles love Hungarians and hate Vladimir Putin, who is a war criminal and nothing more.” The remarks appeared aimed at distancing himself from Orbán’s more conciliatory approach toward Moscow. At the same time, Nawrocki noted areas of alignment with Hungary, including opposition to certain EU climate and migration policies.

Relations between Poland and Hungary — once close allies within the EU — have cooled since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Poland has become one of Kyiv’s strongest supporters, while Hungary has repeatedly clashed with Brussels over sanctions on Russia. Nawrocki himself had previously cancelled a planned meeting with Orbán last year after the Hungarian leader traveled to Moscow.
Polish leadership divided
Nawrocki is aligned with the national-conservative Law and Justice (PiS) party, which governed Poland from 2015 to 2023 and traditionally maintained close ties with Orbán’s Fidesz. Those relations were strained after the outbreak of war in Ukraine, but have recently shown signs of recovery.
Orbán and Nawrocki on Monday in Budapest: no joint press conference, no endorsement. Just a sharp message to Russia’s Putin:
The visit highlights ongoing divisions within Poland’s leadership: the government seeks to reinforce ties with Brussels, while the presidency signals openness to cooperation with like-minded conservative governments in Central Europe.

Poland has an oddly divided leadership : Tusk a Western Elite Plant/puppet, and Nawrocki – a homegrown nationalist.
Nawrocki understands that Poland’s future is in Central Europe, which explains why he is, and will be, in Budapest.
Poles be it from the right or left all know how barbaric the Russian mafia leader Putin is. Meanwhile Orban and Fidesz actively work for Putin’s regime to destabilize Europe and undermine its’ security. Fidesz is a traitor government and Nawrocki says the right things about how bad Russia is but he needs to also condemn Fidesz as a traitor government. No one should show up in Budapest to offer any kind of legitimacy to this corrupt mafia government.
If anybody has destabilized Europe, Dear Larry – it is Bruxelles, and those servile member state governments who have carried out their anti-European policies – from flooding Europe with non-Europeans, to deindustrialization, under the guise of environmentalism, or a costly and painful war that could have been easily avoided.
Analysis: this post utilizes a technique called “Reflexive Control.” It accuses the adversary (Brussels/EU) of the exact actions the opposing actor (Russia) has engaged in:
Destabilization: Russia has funded fringe parties across Europe to destabilize consensus.
Migration: Various reports indicate the weaponization of migration routes via Belarus and Syria to stress-test EU borders.
The War: Framing the invasion as “avoidable” (implying it is NATO’s fault) is the standard Kremlin line to demoralize support for Ukraine.
Good point. Putin’s lackeys use this method constantly. One of Mouton’s posts tried to justify Fidesz corruption by saying everyone does it so its’ not really bad. That is the internal justification criminals use for the way they act.
No, Dear Larry – never once have I justified any Fidesz alleged corruption, but, rather, I have pointed out the following …
A. Fidesz has offered many positive policies to the Hungarian People, policies which we in The disUnited States do not enjoy.
B. Turning over Hungarian Sovereignty to Bruxelles, in the name of fighting corruption, makes no sense. Why? Because Bruxelles has a lot of corruption issues.
The Fox is not fit to guard the henhouse.
I wish, Dear Norbert, that The Western Elite did not overthrow the democratically elected government of Viktor Yanukovich, in 2014, and then weaponize the Ukrainian region of Russia against their brothers, but, alas, it did happen.
NATO wanted this war; would not let Russia get out of this war; and so now it will have to live with losing this war.
These E.U. puppets are all the same: sniveling, spineless, corrupt bullies. They’re all about endless “diversity,” except when it comes to diversity of opinion. They demand everyone think in lockstep with their globalist-socialist-fascist sponsors and paymasters.
Take a hike.
Also, the whole “Russia”-everything scaremongering is REALLY, REALLY tired as it is tiresome. No-one but the Kool-Aid-swilling, C.N.N.-watching automatons even notices it anymore, let alone cares.
@michaelsteiner – please come back to Earth?
Resorting to insults (spineless, automatons and the contradictory globalist-socialist-fascist jibe) is a clear sign that you have no factual counter-argument left.
Enjoy your echo chamber.
Michael, My Dear Norbert, is ‘on earth’.
You are the one living in a Fantasy-Science fiction novel.
Perfectly put, Dear Michael.
The whole Russia scaremongering thing is nothing more than a naked mind-control ploy.
Sad to say, it works on many – particularly The Modern Left.
The only business Hungary has with Russia is trade and commerce period, enough of this bullshit, the same trolls are repeating the same crap in these comments all the time. Orban started his career as a outspoken law student, and stood up to the communism regime in this country and ignited a fire and a passion that still burns stronger than ever today, for Hungarian freedom, freedom of mind, Body, Soul, economic and cultural freedom and has carved our Hungarian path to stand up the the darkness in the political rooms of the EU and others, so say no to the transgender insanity and offer protect to our children, No to mass illegal migration (illegal settlers) and put family and Christian ethos first in this country. So I say once and for all.. to you bots that live on the fake news ‘AGENDA’ programing and are constantly Anti- Hungarian, and yes you know who you are…I think the 5G nano-tech in you umteen covid booster jab experiment is a success as you are now a zombie troll with nothing better to do with your God given gift of life than use your poison pen and toxic words again and again. GOD BLESS you and GOD BLESS Hungary and its people for we are soon to be protected by the Wings of Angels for years to come.
As soon as people start taking about “Wings of Angels” and wander off into Covid vaccination there is no reasoning. You are drinking the Kool-Aid. We deal in the reality of actions and evidence.
Unfortunately, those “Wings of Angels” don’t extend to the IX.
Regards from Ferencváros !
Wow! Lots of comments, and interesting. I like that.
Oh, about Fidesz and their “positive policies”. How about this one? “Honesty”. Have you ever met an honest thief? In keeping with the old saying about fooling the people……….”You can steal from some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can’t steal from all of the people all of time”. There comes a day of reckoning. Honest Hungarians are hoping that “day of reckoning” is April 12th.
