Popular Hungary tourist trail upgrade nears completion
Budapest, August 17 (MTI) – The refurbishment of Hungary’s most popular tourist trail, the National Blue Trail, will be completed by the end of September, a representative of the the Hungarian Nature Friends Association said in Pecs on Monday.
The 2.7 billion forint (EUR 8.7m) upgrade involved the clearing of paths, repainting trail signs and building lookouts, bridges, rest areas and guest houses, Gabriella Szeki said.
She said the National Blue Trail is composed of the country’s three blue hiking trails and through European Union-financed developments it has become the continent’s longest tourist path, spanning 2,550 kilometres.
