Rail transport will be restarted at Budapest’s Déli railway station on Thursday after two weeks of general maintenance works and testing, state railways MÁV said.
Some 250 trains daily will resume normal operations on the Győr, Székesfehérvár and Pécs routes, MÁV said on Wednesday.
The maintenance works carried out by 150 staff members cost 477 million forints (EUR 1.5m) and aimed to improve the quality of services and half the number of technical faults causing disruptions, the statement added.
Further technical developments at the railway station will by carried out until June 2019 but these will not affect rail transport services, MÁV said.
