Here is the renewed 16 kilometres highway in eastern Hungary
János Lázár, head of the prime minister’s office, inaugurated a renewed section of the highway between Hajdusámson and Nyíradony, in eastern Hungary, on Friday.
The project, covering 16 kilometres of Highway 471, has cost a net 5.5 billion forints (EUR 18m).
At the ceremony, Lázár pledged that urban sections of the road, inside the city of Debrecen, would be renewed as well.
Highway 471 provides a link between Debrecen and Mátészalka.
As we wrote on Monday, a design contest was announced for reshaping the Danube bank. This initiation is meant to form a closer bond between the local people and Hungary’s largest river.
