Great news for commuters: Budapest Metro to run longer hours from June

The Budapest Transport Centre (BKK) informed MTI on Tuesday that Budapest Metro lines 2, 3, and 4 will continue to run from June 1. More than forty daytime and numerous nighttime services will be adjusted to the extended operating hours.
Budapest metro and changing travel habits
According to their announcement, the change is in line with altered travel habits. The last trains depart from the city center around midnight on weekdays and around 1 a.m. on weekends, running every 10 minutes.
On weekdays, from Sunday night to Thursday night, metro line 2 will depart from Deák Ferenc tér in both directions at midnight, metro line 3 will depart for Újpest-központ at 12:03 a.m. and for Kőbánya-Kispest at 11:56 p.m., and the last train on line 4 will depart from Kálvin tér towards Kelenföld at 0:04.
On Friday and Saturday nights, the last train on line 2 will depart from Deák Ferenc tér in both directions at 1:00, Metro line 3 will run towards Újpest-központ at 1:03 a.m. and towards Kőbánya-Kispest at 12:56 a.m., while Metro line 4 will run from Kálvin tér towards Kelenföld at 1:04 a.m.
The timetables of surface services closely connected to the metro will also be modified, with both weekday and weekend services adjusted to the last metro departures from the city center around midnight.
