Rogan calls for simpler tax procedures
Budapest, July 24 (MTI) – Tax procedures need to be made less complex and the red tape in tax administration should be reduced, Antal Rogan, group leader of the ruling Fidesz party, said in an interview to daily Magyar Hirlap.
In his interview, published on Friday, Rogan defended Ildiko Vida, who has recently resigned from her post as head of tax authority NAV, and said that she had been subject to “a number of groundless and mean attacks”. He added that no evidence supported any of the “charges raised by then leaders of the US embassy (in Budapest) or the opposition”.
Rogan added that the authority’s new leader would facilitate “building a new, entrepreneur-friendly approach” in tax administration.
