(MTI) – A group of Romanian shepherds paid a visit to Hungary’s southwestern Tolna and central Bacs-Kiskun counties to exchange experience with their peers there, Sandor Rausch, a local county official told MTI on Saturday.
Peter Hajduk, the head of the Hungarian Association of Sheep and Goat Farmers, said the Hungarian farmers were ready to share their results in breeding and production and would be ready to sell animals for breeding, too.
In Hungary 6,800-7,000 farming families work with sheep and the farming is 95 percent concentrated on family farms, he said. The majority of Hungarian sheep are exported to western Europe, he added.
