Grab your 2026 Hungarian motorway vignettes – massive savings on the Budapest–Vienna stretch!

The pre-sale of 2026 motorway vignettes kicked off with a bang: travellers snapped up a whopping 23,000 annual e-vignettes in the first week, from 8 to 14 December, according to a statement released today by National Toll Payment Services Plc (NÚSZ Ltd).
Huge discounts for the Budapest-Vienna motorway
More than 8,500 national annual vignettes, 13,000 county-specific vignettes and nearly 1,500 M1 regional zone vignettes flew off the shelves, with 84% purchased for Hungarian-registered D1-category passenger cars, the Hungarian News Agency reported.
“Drivers are already taking advantage of the new M1 regional e-vignette, with almost 1,500 sold in the first seven days of pre-sales – 88% of them for domestic D1 passenger cars,” said Tamás Bartal, Chairman and CEO of NÚSZ Ltd, in the statement.

“It is crucial that everyone planning to use the M1 motorway next year is aware of this option. If you are buying a vignette for any county along the route, rethink your habits – the M1 regional vignette could save you a significant amount of money,” he added.
Those who purchase county vignettes now and later decide to switch to the regional one may not be entitled to a refund. Once a county vignette becomes valid, there is no legal way to reclaim the cost, Bartal warned.
