September state debt confirmed at 78pc of GDP
Budapest, December 31 (MTI) – Hungary’s Maastricht state debt stood at 78.0 percent of GDP at the end of September, up from 76.2 percent at the end of last year, but down from 79.4 percent a year earlier, the National Bank of Hungary (NBH) said in a second reading of financial account figures on Thursday.
The ratio is unchanged from the preliminary figure published on November 17.
Net public financing requirement, which is a good approximation of the public finance deficit, was 197 billion forints, down just 1 billion from the first reading, in the four quarters to the end of the third quarter of 2015, equal to 0.6 percent of GDP.
