At the residence of H.E. Ambassador Giuseppe Scognamiglio, the event “SIMEST financial instruments and services of the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Hungary for Italian companies” took place today, in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Budapest and ITA – Italian Trade Agency.

The event involved 35 Italian business entities operating in Hungary.

After the institutional greetings of Ambassador Scognamiglio, who reaffirmed the importance of economic cooperation between Italy and Hungary and of supporting Italian companies in their international development processes, President Pusceddu highlighted the role of the Chamber in fostering internationalisation through networking activities, operational assistance, and connections with the local territory.

SIMEST President Vittorio De Pedys and Dr. Federica Ingrosso presented the main lines of intervention of the institution, part of the CDP Group (Cassa Depositi e Prestiti), dedicated to supporting internationalisation processes. The instruments illustrated include, depending on the activated measures, subsidised financing and, in some cases, a non-repayable co-financing component. These tools cover various stages of international development, including commercial growth, skills strengthening, and investments for competitiveness. During the meeting, it was also highlighted that these services can be activated and supported through the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Hungary, further strengthening the role of the CCIU as a strategic counterpart for Italian companies already present in, or interested in, the Hungarian market.

Internationalisation: SIMEST and the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Hungary join forces to support Italian companies

CCIU Board Member Asuni concluded the session by emphasising that internationalisation does not depend solely on access to financial instruments, but also requires in-depth knowledge of markets, the building of strong relationships, and a structured local presence. In this perspective, the cooperation between SIMEST and the CCIU represents a strategic asset to support Italian companies not only in their entry into foreign markets, but also in their consolidation and long-term development. Asuni also underlined the role of the Chamber as an operational reference point for companies interested in accessing SIMEST instruments, through guidance, assistance, and concrete support in identifying the most suitable opportunities for business growth and international expansion.

The initiative confirmed the shared commitment of the involved institutions to strengthen dialogue with the business community, promoting an integrated approach to supporting the internationalisation of Italian companies in Hungary.
