The body of a 42-year-old Hungarian woman was found yesterday morning in a closed hotel under renovation in Rimini, Italy.

The body of a 42-year-old Hungarian woman was found on Tuesday morning in a closed hotel under renovation in Rimini, Italy, il Resto del Carlino reports.

The hotel is located in the seaside town of Miramare. Several police units have been dispatched to the scene. Initial investigations suggest that the woman may have been dead for some time, most likely as a result of an accident.

The body, already decomposing, was found in the basement of the hotel by workers starting renovation work, Telex reports, based on the Italian news portal. The previously closed building was occupied by homeless people, apparently including the woman.

The body was found in the basement at the bottom of the stairs, with the woman’s shoes, a bed and some personal belongings next to the stairs. Investigations suggest that the woman, who had a history of drug and prostitution-related offences in the area, may have slipped on the stairs, hit her head and was unable to call for help. The prosecution ordered an autopsy.

Son of Hungarian star psychologist brutally murdered in US

emőke bagdy

The son of Emőke Bagdy, a Hungarian clinical psychologist and psychotherapist, was murdered in the United States. The 82-year-old psychologist confirmed the terrible news.

The son of Emőke Bagdy was killed with several knife wounds in the United States, the Hungarian tabloid Blikk has learned. The psychologist confirmed to the news portal that the victim was her theologian son. In Bagdy’s opinion, he was set up, and the perpetrator’s claim that he stabbed the religious 53-year-old Zsolt Császár several times in self-defence is not true.

The news is true, my son has been killed. I’m devastated, it’s beyond my comprehension,

the clinical psychologist said.

The murderer

US news portals also cite the testimony of the perpetrator, 18-year-old Yaaliyah Ezekiel Jackson. In it, he claims that Zsolt was at his sister’s apartment and, after an argument and a fight, he stabbed his victim several times in self-defence.

But Emőke Bagdy says this is not true.

“My daughter, Zsolt’s twin sister and my son-in-law are out in Arizona, the investigation is still going strong. According to US law, the victim’s relatives have access to all documents and audio material (…) Therefore, I can say with certainty that nothing the press has reported is true,” she told Blikk.

The victim could have been set up

According to Emőke Bagdy, her son, a theologian, was invited to an event, but was set up. “It was a robbery-murder committed with intent, by several people, for profit. For the time being, the crime has been claimed by Jackson, 18, 6ft tall, athletic, but others took the car, mobile phone etc. ”

My son didn’t know the attackers and didn’t even defend himself because he wasn’t expecting anything bad to happen,

Bagdy said.

He was benevolent, helping people, a man of deep faith. He was a slim, 5’10”, good-hearted little man,” the psychologist told the newspaper. She asked people of good conscience not to harass her family in the future with media reports and unnecessary letters.

Emir Ćeman missing person

UPDATE

We are delighted that family members have reported that they have found the man they thought was lost.

One of our readers described what happened:

“Out of concern and after several days of searching, I am writing to you with a request to publish information about the missing person Emir Ćeman. He left home, Slovenia Ljubljana, on Friday 13 October 2023, and took a train to Romania. He was stopped at the Hungarian-Romanian border and prevented from crossing due to the invalidity of his identity document. On 14 October 2023, the mother received a message stating that he was returning to Budapest.

The last time we got a short answer on 15/10/2023 via the Facebook chat room, Messenger, where it is not clear whether he was sent home or not, since then unfortunately we have had no information about him. He is listed as a missing person on the Slovenian Police website, as well there is a post from yesterday on my profile, where a group of people have already shared the information.

We waited for quite some time and left room for the possible return of the Emir, but now the worry is too great, despite this, we maintain a good mood.”

If you have seen this young man, notify the family or the police.

Austrian strongman found dead after reception at Hungarian embassy in Vienna

Christian Pilnacek Austria

Christian Pilnacek was once considered Austria’s most powerful official and one of its most brilliant lawyers. However, a few years ago, he was accused of shady dealings. Although the proceedings were dropped, the life of Pilnacek, former State Secretary of the Austrian Ministry of Justice, took a dark turn. According to Austrian press reports, Pilnacek was found dead after attending a reception at the Hungarian Embassy in Vienna on Thursday evening. You can also find his last SMS he sent before his death below.

Background story

According to Blikk, the 60-year-old Christian Pilnacek was Austria’s most powerful judicial official until recently. He became a judge in 1992 and a prosecutor general in 2001. Since 2010, he had been in charge of prosecutors’ offices as head of the Criminal Law Department of the Ministry of Justice. Pilnacek was the father of the reform of the Austrian Code of Criminal Procedure.

In 2019, his career ended. His former justice department was disbanded, he was prosecuted for abuse of office, and he was thrown out of the ministry. The proceedings, in which he was accused of leaking official secrets, were dropped. Before that, Pilnacek was considered to be a sociable man and a regular in Vienna’s bars. However, the case consumed Pilnacek, who could never process removed from his ministry, Kronen Zeitung writes.

The deadly evening

On Thursday evening, Pilnacek attended a private event. He was the guest of a family dinner at an elegant Italian restaurant in downtown Vienna. This was followed by another event, as the man was invited to a reception at the Hungarian Embassy in Vienna, according to Austrian newspapers.

Shortly before 10 PM on Thursday evening, he was already in the car, driving, alone in the vehicle. He was driving on the A22 motorway along the Danube in Austria, the road leading to Lower Austria. But on the S5 motorway in Stockerau, he drove the wrong way up against the traffic. He was probably on his way home to the Krems district, but missed the exit from the motorway. A police patrol stopped him.

Licence taken away, his last SMS

As Blikk put it, at 22:15, the final act of the man’s tragedy began. The police probed him and found him to be drunk. His driving licence was taken away. According to oe24.at, he was taken to the police station, from where he was taken away by someone else in a car. Shortly afterwards, the 60-year-old lawyer was found dead in the Krems district. The circumstances of his death are still under investigation.

He leaves behind a wife and three children. According to oe24.at, before his death he sent a text message to a friend saying “I can’t do this anymore”.

Budapest police bans demonstration linked to Hamas call for protest

hungarian police drug dealer caught in Budapest

The Budapest police headquarters (BRFK) has banned a protest linked to the Hamas call for protest, police said on its website on Wednesday.

A private individual has submitted a request to hold a demonstration in Budapest’s 2nd district on Friday, in connection with the armed fights between Israel and the Hamas terrorist organisation, the website said.

BRFK has banned the demonstration citing the law on the right of assembly, stating that “it would disturb public peace and the safety of the people in attendance”.

BRFK added that attending a banned event would result in sanctions.

Hungarian police do not allow a demonstration in support of Hamas in Budapest

gaza-palestine

The Budapest Police Headquarters (BRFK) said on Friday that demonstrating in support of a terrorist organisation was not permitted, and Budapest police will not allow a rally in support of Hamas to take place in the capital today.

A statement on the police.hu website notes that a private individual announced the intention of holding a rally in Budapest’s 2nd district in connection with the war between Israel and Hamas.

The police said the rally was prompted by a call by “the terrorist organisation” on its followers around the world to “demonstrate anger”.

The 2018 law on the right of assembly, it said, prohibited holding any assembly that directly imperilled public safety, and punitive action would be taken against anyone taking part in a prohibited assembly.

BREAKING: Explosion at a family house, one policeman died in Hungary

Explosion in Esztergom

On Wednesday evening, a massive explosion shook the outskirts of Esztergom. The police and the fire brigade responded in force to a threat and a Hungarian policeman was killed in action.

M1 reports that a disturbed man started making bomb threats in the morning in Hungary. In accordance with official procedures, the Counter-Terrorism Centre units were alerted.

The hostage negotiator, who arrived with the eradication unit, tried in vain to persuade the increasingly aggressive man, but his effort went unsuccessful. He detonated a gas cylinder or cylinders, killing a policeman, presumably a counter-terrorist. Six people were injured, 444.hu reports.

In addition to the policeman, the perpetrator was also killed, and multiple ambulances left the scene with casualties. Several wards of the Esztergom hospital were evacuated to receive the injured.

The area around the explosion has been hermetically sealed off by the police, and bomb investigators from the Civil Protection and TEK are searching the bomber’s property. Interior Minister Sándor Pintér is also on the scene. According to people living in the area, the bomber lived alone and had a history of disturbed behaviour, regularly calling the police. An investigation has been launched into a qualified case of violence against a public official, and the Central Investigating Prosecutor’s Office has promised to provide information later.

The Central Investigative Prosecutor’s Office (CIPO) issued a statement on Wednesday night, stating that a wanted man had deliberately caused a gas explosion during a criminal operation, according to preliminary information.

Based on the available information, it can be concluded that there was no police misconduct in the case, the KNYF said, adding that more detailed information on the case will be provided after the primary investigative actions are completed, probably on Friday, “until then, the patience of the press and the public” is requested.

Hungarian man attacked by bodyguards after giving Erdogan the middle finger

szijjártó erdogan

On Sunday, the Turkish president arrived in Hungary, however, he was not welcomed wholeheartedly by everyone. To express his strong disapproval, a Hungarian man made a rather rude gesture at the controversial politician. Shortly afterwards, he was attacked by whom appeared to be the Turkish president’s security guards. He was eventually rescued by TEK (the Hungarian counter-terrorism squad) and the local police.

Hungarian man flipped the bird at Erdogan

A Hungarian man reported to Magyar Narancs that he was subjected to a brutal atrocity in Budapest. According to him, he was out taking a stroll with his son and wife from Buda to the Pest side on Sunday afternoon, when the Turkish convoy passed by on the Erzsébet Bridge. Unbothered, the family continued its way to a nearby pastry shop, but they spotted the convoy again near the Matild Palace Hotel, where they were also heading. The local man said the hotel lobby was swarmed by masked commandos, armed with machine guns, alongside several civilian Erdogan sympathisers.

“Suddenly, the Turkish president showed up in the lobby. The crowd loudly cheered him, and Erdogan smiled and waved back. Meanwhile, I raised my hands above my head to give him my middle finger. He flashed a glance at me and the smile instantly faded from his face”, recalled the man.

Erdogan’s bodyguards did not keep calm

Alarmed by his rude antics, a police officer stepped over to the hot-headed man, warning him to stop immediately what he was doing. “This is my honest opinion, we have freedom of expression in Hungary,” the man replied.

Then suddenly, three or four civilians jumped to the scene and attacked him. The man believes they must have been Erdogan’s bodyguards. At this point, everything went blur. He only remembers being dragged outside of the building while he was trying to grab the gate to hold onto.

According to the man, more and more people arrived and threw themselves at him. They brought him to the ground, kneeled on his kidneys and back and twisted his hands. Luckily, he was spared of kicks, at least. Still, he was baffled over what was going on. Finally, the TEK squad rushed to his rescue and separated him from the Turks, but he still got a few more punches on the way.

TEK worried for the Hungarian daredevil’s life

Until the police made it to the scene, the TEK members formed a semi-circle around the man to shield him from his fuming attackers. He was then ushered outside by the authorities and placed in a police car, which headed towards Buda.

“My God, where should we go,” one of the policemen asked in confusion, according to the man. He was finally taken to a place where eight or ten police cars and minibuses were parked. The victim revealed that the police and the TEK squad were very helpful, they even asked if he needed medical assistance and offered to call an ambulance.

Three Hungarian criminals on Europol’s Most Wanted list have been detained by the Hungarian and Spanish police, the Hungarian police reported on its website.

The three men, referred to as István Sándor V., Roland V., and Tibor Erik K and wanted for drug-related crimes, were arrested in Calp on July 19, the website said.

The suspects are believed to have operated a professional, automated cannabis plantation and processing facility in south-eastern Hungary in 2020 and 2021, which the Hungarian police wound up in May 2021. According to the police investigation so far, they smuggled at least 100 kilogrammes of marijuana and 10 kilogrammes of cocaine over the course of 10 trips to Hungary. Outrageous! Airline wanted to leave disabled Hungarian passenger at airport

disability wheelchair

A disabled Hungarian man was told at Milan airport when he checked in that he could not get a boarding pass despite having a valid ticket.

Scandal in Milan: discrimination against a disabled person

According to the National Federation of Associations of Disabled People (Mozgáskorlátozottak Egyesületeinek Országos Szövetsége, MEOSZ), the severely disabled Viktor Singer travelled to Milan with his niece and her mother. His electric wheelchair was released without any problems during his outward journey, but on the way home, the airline asked him to remove the battery at Milan airport when he wanted to check it.

The administrator had a lengthy discussion with his supervisor, and was finally told that the battery could not be taken on board, so it would be confiscated. There was no question of it being delivered to the passenger later.

Singer said in vain that he had been able to travel the day before with the same airline without any problems, but he removed the battery and placed it in the overhead bin. In addition, Singer said he had not had a problem with the same battery on several different airlines in the past.

The Hungarian man said the battery he used met all the airline’s requirements, but that this was not enough. Singer then asked for help from the Consulate General of Hungary in Milan.

The Consulate General wanted to mediate personally, but the administrator refused. Singer called the administrator’s superior, but he refused and even called the police. The police stated that this was not within their competence, but they took away the Hungarian passenger’s ID and the IDs of those accompanying him and photographed them.

Compulsory travel and compensation

Singer had to choose between staying in Milan or returning home without the battery and the Hungarian man chose the latter, 24.hu reports. Despite Singer’s request, no record of the incident was made.

MEOSZ mentions that Singer is severely disabled and can only use an electric wheelchair. The airline not only caused him financial damage, but also made him vulnerable during the flight home and in the days that followed. Singer was unable to leave his home and therefore unable to go to work in Hungary.

“In addition to suffering significant financial loss, Viktor Singer’s right to human dignity and freedom of movement was seriously violated as a result of the actions of the airline representative. He has been subjected to an undignified and humiliating situation because of rules and practices established but not uniformly applied by the airline, which otherwise allow the transport of the battery in question, and which led to an unjustified but intimidating police action,” the statement reads.

For the material damage caused by the airline, as well as for the serious violation of rights and discrimination, Viktor Singer has requested a compensation of HUF 1,139,870 (EUR 2,980).

Serbian authorities comply with Viktor Orbán’s request

orbán vucic serbia

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has informed Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán that in line with his request, Serbian authorities will soon release the three Kosovan policemen apprehended earlier this month, the foreign minister told MTI on Monday.

We reported earlier that Orbán made his request at a meeting with Vucic in Palic, in northern Serbia, last week. He told a press conference after the meeting that Hungary was carefully following the situation in Kosovo, and “sees the harm suffered by Serbs.” At the same time, he said that releasing the policemen apprehended in Serbia territory “would help Serbia’s position in international politics.” Vucic responded as saying that the issue was in the hands of Serbia’s judiciary system.

Péter Szijjártó told MTI that Orbán highly appreciated the decision the Serbian president had taken at a time of serious challenges. The decision is clear proof of the deep friendship between the Serbian and Hungarian nation and the strategic cooperation between the two countries, he said.

Video: a drunk driver without a driver’s licence went on a rampage in Hungary

Car police

In Kaposvár, Hungary, a man was driving drunk without a licence. Near Budapest, motorcyclists were arguing with the authorities.

Drunk driver on a rampage

In Kaposvár, Hungary, a driver was driving drunk without a licence, the police website reports. The police gave the driver a clear signal, but he did not stop, instead he stepped on the gas and started a hair-raising getaway in the centre of Kaposvár.

The police herded the drunk driver, who was a danger to himself and others, into a dead end street where there was no way out for the rampaging driver. The man then jumped out of the car and tried to run away from the police, but was unsuccessful.

The patrol officers then found that the 29-year-old resident did not have a driving licence. He also tested positive for alcohol. Following the incident, the man was brought to the Kaposvár Police Station, where he was prosecuted for the offence of driving under the influence of alcohol. The man was also questioned for driving without a licence and was taken into custody for an offence.

Motorbike accident in the Danube bend

In Visegrád, not far from Budapest, a road was closed because many people were using it as a race track. A sign prohibiting motorbikes was recently put up on the road to Fellegvár in the Danube bend. According to rtl.hu, the ban is in force every year between 1 March and 1 November.

According to a video on TikTok, local motorcyclists are not happy about this new regulation. The motorcyclist who took the video got into an argument with the police, who pulled him over.

The municipality said that motorcyclists will now be able to access the Citadel from the Great Fork Ski Slope. Those living or working in the area affected by the traffic restrictions will be able to use this section of the road with a permit.

According to the municipality, “the section of the Panorama road leading to and from the city is used daily by motorcyclists and motorists as a racetrack for high-speed traffic, following last year’s renovation, compared to previous years. The daily lives of the residents of our town and the peace and quiet of our hotel guests are being greatly disturbed by this activity, which has been the subject of many reports”.

New memorial site for deadly Hungarian boat tragedy

A memorial site is being established at the premises of the Counter Terrorism Centre (TEK) in remembrance of the Hableány boat tragedy, said János Hajdu, the director general of TEK. On Sunday, they held a commemoration at the Pest-side abutment of Margit Bridge, on the fourth anniversary of the boat’s recovery.

The leaders of TEK laid wreaths at the memorial erected near the scene of the tragedy. This was the third time since 2019 that they remembered those who died, writes Index.

New memorial site

“There was a strong determination to create such a memorial site there. This was important not only for the leaders who were present, but also for all those involved in the rescue operation,”

emphasised Hajdu.

During the commemoration, the director-general reported that the investigation of the boat had concluded, and the dismantling had begun. They received some parts, which they are going to place in the memorial corner established within the TEK premises as symbols of the boat.

He mentioned that during the procedure, a tree sprouted from the hull of the boat. This was taken and was recently planted within the TEK premises, and will continue to grow there. According to their plans, they will commemorate the tragedy at both locations in the future.

The boating tragedy

The Hableány boat tragedy refers to a tragic incident that occurred on the evening of 29 May, 2019, in Budapest. It was a sightseeing boat carrying 33 South Korean tourists and a crew of two Hungarian members.

While sailing along the Danube River, at Margit Bridge, the Hableány collided with a larger cruise ship called the Viking Sigyn. The collision caused the ship to capsize and sink within a matter of seconds.

Out of the 33 South Korean tourists on board, authorities could only rescue 7. Two Hungarian crew members also lost their lives. One South Korean passenger was also reported missing and presumed to have perished in the accident.

The recovery efforts involved using a floating crane to bring the wreckage of the Hableány to the surface. The Counter Terrorism Centre played a coordinating role in the operation, which lasted for about seven hours.

The Hableány boat tragedy is one of the deadliest boating accidents in Hungary’s recent history. It has had a significant impact on the country. Furthermore, it led to investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident and highlighted the importance of improving safety measures and regulations in the boating industry.

PHOTOS: Racist bloodbath? Hungarian woman murders black mother-of-four

Hungarian woman murdered black mother

A woman of Hungarian descent living in Ocala, in Florida shot and killed an African-American family mother. Local American newspapers talk about racism. The two women quarrelled regularly since the mother’s kids played too close to the Hungarian woman’s house. However, the local black community believes the reason behind the horrific deed is racist.

According to Blikk, a Hungarian tabloid, Susan Lorincz and her neighbour, a mother of four, have quarrelled for a long time. But the local African-American community thinks the Hungarian woman was racist, and that is why she committed the terrifying deed.

They quarrelled because of the victim’s kids who regularly played on the parcel near Lorincz’s house. She did not like that, and local police knew about the altercation since they received reports from both sides in the last 2.5 years. One week earlier, their quarrel worsened after Susan hit one of the small kids with a roller skate.

The mother, Ajike „AJ” Owens, went to the Hungarian woman and knocked on the door. Lorincz remembered differently. She said the mother banged on the door instead of trying to get in politely. Anyway, Lorincz shot once in the direction of the door. But the bullet went through the paper-thin door and hit the mother. Local reports say that her four kids watched the events.

The victim:

The 35-year-old woman was brought to a hospital, but the doctors could not save her life. Authorities hesitated to accept Lorincz’s explanation about self-defence. The local black community began to protest, demanding her arrest. According to them, Susan is a racist since she scolded the kids before because of the colour of their skin.

A Hungarian friend of Susan’s told a local newspaper that he had known the woman for two decades, and she had not ever given a sign about racism. Finally, police arrested Susan on Thursday. They charge her with homicide and bodily harm. If convicted, she might face 30 years in prison. During her first hearing, she said she bought the gun because she was scared of her neighbour. Here is her arrest:

A local supporter of the murdered mother wrote about Susan “she also swung on her kids and yelled at them while they were playing prior to the shooting and stole the kids’ iPad. She was finally arrested today after attempting to use the stand-your-ground law. We all know Florida, let’s just pray there is justice.”

VIDEO: Terrifying motorcycle crash in Budapest

car motorcycle crash budapest margaret bridge

On the morning of 3 June, an inattentive motorist hit a motorcyclist in Budapest, at the Pest end of the Margaret Bridge. The incident was recorded by the on-board camera of the car behind the at-fault car.

“The motorcyclist stopped at the red light, the motorist was staring to the right as he was driving and almost struck the motorcyclist full in the back. Unfortunately, there was still backflip,” the video’s submitter wrote to bpiautosok.hu.

Thankfully, the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet. After the fall, several people immediately went to help him, including the at-fault driver, who did not immediately leave the scene.

“The majority of accidents are caused by a serious breach of the rules, but there are also cases where a minor mistake, a one-second lapse of attention, has caused a tragedy, so please always drive with extreme caution and care,” the police reminded road users in an earlier statement.

You can watch the video of the accident below. The actual footage starts at 00:17.

Unfortunately, accidents like this are not uncommon in Hungary’s capital. Yesterday, we wrote about an accident involving two electric scooters and a bus – read more and see the horrifying video HERE.
