The Famous Church Of Bozodujfalu Has Collapsed In Transylvania
Ceausescu’s action came to an end: on Sunday, early in the afternoon the tower of the Catholic Church has collapsed in Bozodujfalu, hir24.hu reports.
The reservoir placed in Bozodujfalu and the steeple standing out of the water are considered as the symbol of The Ceausescu Era’s chauvinist policy and village destruction.
Bozodujfalu is a place of a tragedy of the late XX. century. Thanks to the megalomania of a mentally affected dictator, construction of the reservoir started in 1975 and the village has flooded in 1988. The entire city sits underwater. 150 houses of 900 inhabitants, 12 km road and 247 ha land has destroyed by the water. People had to move to different towns in the area: to Erdoszentgyorgy, to Harmasfalu, to Szekelykeresztur and to Bozod , geocaching.com said.

In order to form the new reservior, workers of the power plant opened the sluice gates to flood the valley and Bozodujfalu. The water slowly approached the village. When people came back on the following day and wanted to take their personal belongings they were shocked to see that the water level in the village was raising faster than they thought. By the time they loaded their carts the cellars were already flooded. Ceasescu succeeded: a Hungarian village has destroyed with the center of the Sabbatarian religion in Transsylvania.
