Tourism out of crisis, says govt official
Budapest (MTI) – Data published by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) show that the Hungarian tourism sector has “emerged from the crisis”, a foreign ministry official told public news channel M1 on Monday.
The 15 percent rise in room revenue over the first quarter clearly indicates an increase in demand, deputy state secretary Adam Ruszinko said.
The entire Q1 data, showing a total number of 3.9 million guest nights spent by 1.7 million guests, is a boost for Hungarian tourism, he added.
He said apart from a rise in the number of guest nights spent by foreign visitors, revenue from Hungarian guests also increased.
