Train travel made easy in Hungary with MÁV’s newest innovation

Since the latest update of the MÁV application (the application of the Hungarian State Railways), it is now possible to book seats on MÁV trains.

New function: seat reservation

MÁV has added a seat reservation function to its application, allowing passengers to choose their seats on trains with tickets, the railway company said. Since the latest development of the application, it is now possible to book seats on all local trains, including InterCity and international trains, hvg.hu reports.

MÁV app in numbers

The MÁV app can be downloaded for Android, iOS and Huawei phones. According to the company, the number of users is growing steadily and now stands at 1.9 million. In 2019, only a third of online ticket purchases were made through the app, by 2021, it accounted for two thirds. Last year, one million passengers downloaded and used the app, and in the past, year the number of users has increased by 800,000.
