Two drivers started a fight in the middle of the road in Budapest – VIDEO

Budapest Hungary traffic

A relatively unusual incident happened on Kerepesi street this last weekend when two drivers suddenly started fighting in the middle of the road. The two drivers had a conflict which they first tried to discuss but then ended up in a fight. Even a video has been recorded of the shocking event.

Dangerous roads

The incident took place on Kerepesi street, close to Keleti railway station, where an Audi cut in from the bus lane in front of a Volkswagen and then made a ‘revenge-brake’. A revenge break is when a driver is frustrated by another, and thus decides to get in front of him/her and push the brakes to make the other person angry as well. Even though it is considered illegal, unfortunately, it is still a common practice. The scene was recorded by the onboard camera of one of the following cars.

There was a video made of the incident

The video, which has been watched by a lot of people on the internet, shows that the aggressively acting Audi driver leaves his car and walks over to the Volkswagen behind him and then probably (it cannot be heard on the video, but there are telltale gestures) starts yelling at him. He then also slams the door of the Volkswagen. At that point, the other driver loses his temper, gets out of his car and attacks the Audi driver. Following that, the two men end up in a fight in the middle of the road, writes 444.hu.

The car behind them, which stopped at the sight of the incident, captured the whole event with its onboard camera.

The video of the fight can be seen here.

The driver gave an interview

The owner of the Audi told RTL Klub Fókusz that the Volkswagen driver tried to turn from the middle lane to the gas station without using warning lights. The Audi driver had to pull the handlebars and both cars slipped into the gas station. According to him, it was only a matter of luck that no one had to face any serious damage. He then drove after the other car.

“I got out of the car and walked back to say “hi there, what’s up?”

He recalled the events to 24.hu. However, based on the gestures seen in the video, he certainly acted more confrontational than that. According to various sources, he threatened to beat up the other driver. However, the Audi driver claimed that he considered the discussion closed, but then the driver of the other car acted aggressively, got out of the car, and started hitting him. Then they started ‘wrestling’ and ended up on the ground.

The man who made the video, whose car was also in danger during the fight since the two-man have fallen on it, claims that he shouted at the two fighting drivers to stay away from his car at least.

We have no information on whether the case is being investigated by the police.
