Heritage services available all summer in Budapest

Centre for Budapest Transport has announced that their widely popular heritage services are back and rolling in the summer, starting from the 2nd of June.

Turizmus.com understands that there are new additions in this year’s throwback. That means that along with fan-favourite tramlines like N2 and N19 (which operate on the same routes as their respective twin lines), there is a nostalgia bus line labelled N109 that goes around the heart of Budapest, showing the capital’s most famous venues to anyone onboard. Another novelty is retro bus line R158 which operates between Széll Kálmán square and Zugliget.

Perhaps the most well-known old school vehicles available are trams labelled 436 and 611 which were manufactured in the early 20th century. They await passengers eagerly to provide some retro vibes.

There are a couple of ways for passengers to hop on a ride of nostalgia,

You can buy specific daily or single nostalgia tickets or you can acquire an annual nostalgia pass.

Whichever you opt for, they are available for purchase both at BKK centres or on the nostalgia line, just like last year

Retro lines require standard tickets
