US Ambassador visits Hungarian President with his rainbow family

David Pressman, the new US Ambassador to Hungary, announced on Twitter that he had arrived to see President Katalin Novák. He did not go alone though: his partner and their two children accompanied him.
“My family and I are looking forward to meeting President Novak” is the caption David Pressman, the newly appointed US Ambassador to Hungary, posted on Twitter, along with a picture of his family.

The diplomat, who is also known as an advocate for gay rights and is at home in national security affairs, arrived in Hungary on 2 September. On Wednesday, he really got down to work, meeting Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó over lunch and handing over his credentials to the Hungarian President in the afternoon.
After the meeting
After their meeting, Pressman tweeted again, saying that they had a pleasant time together with the President, discussing the need to strengthen the US-Hungarian relationship.

In addition to the US, the new ambassadors of the Vatican (Michael Wallace Banach) and Germany (Julia Katharina Gross) also presented their credentials on Wednesday, according to a Facebok post by Katalin Novák.
