Nis, Serbia(MTI) – Serbia’s offering several hundred state-owned companies for privatisation could offer great opportunities for Hungarian businesses, Mihály Varga, Hungary’s economy minister, told MTI on Sunday.
Speaking after talks with Goran Knezevic, his Serbian counterpart, in southern Serbia’s Nis, Varga said that the Serbian companies being privatised included 11 large firms of strategic importance.
Parties at the talks signed an agreement on the exchange of tax data, which will facilitate the sharing of information between the two countries’s tax authorities and contribute to efforts against the illegal economy, Varga said.
Varga is in Serbia with a Hungarian government delegation headed by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
