VIDEO: MÁV operates a special train to the Rijeka Carnival

The Hungarian State Railways (MÁV) will launch its first Rijeka Carnival Express train to Croatia this year.

The train will depart from Budapest at 10.00 p.m. on 10 February 2024 and arrive in Rijeka at 9.00 a.m. the next morning, from where it will return to Hungary at 9.00 p.m? on 11 February 2024.

The Rijeka Carnival has been held since 1910 and has become one of Europe’s most popular events, attracting more than 100,000 visitors to Croatia every year. This year’s event takes place from 17 January to 14 February, with a wide range of activities, including carnival parades, special feasts, balls, concerts and various other forms of entertainment.

MÁV’s overnight train offers comfortable sleeping and seating arrangements, with breakfast included on both the outbound and return journeys. There is also a buffet on board where passengers can buy snacks and refreshments, as mentioned by turizmus.com.
