Charges have been filed against two Vietnamese brothers who sold counterfeit luxury brands from Hungary, the chief prosecutor for Somogy County (SW Hungary) said on Wednesday.
The brothers started importing the counterfeit merchandise from China and Vietnam in 2020 and built a network of business partners that extended to Italy and Germany. Their operation was uncovered in April 2025, when customs officials discovered a shipment of fake branded perfume bound for Italy in a lorry on the M7 motorway.
The brothers’ activities are estimated to have caused HUF 16bn of damage to the luxury brands.
