Vona: Orbán’s elitists will soon be step away by history
In his Saturday’s press release, Jobbik’s president Gábor Vona responded to Viktor Orbán’s address delivered in Tusnádfürdő, pointing out that Orbán himself was also responsible for Europe’s current state.
“Europe’s current political leadership has failed and we need fundamental changes to restore security in Europe,” Viktor Orbán said in Tusnádfürdő (Băile Tușnad / Kaiserbad), in his address delivered on the closing day of the 27th Bálványos Summer University and Student Camp. He also said that Europe’s leaders, both on the political right and left, have come from the same circles, the same schools and the same elite for 50-60 years, which has always been taken for granted as long as they could guarantee an increasing prosperity for Europe while competing with and replacing each other.
To this statement, the largest opposition party’s leader reacted that ‘Beyond doubt, just as Viktor Orbán mentioned, Europe’s leaders have come from the same circles, the same schools and the same elite. Unfortunately, it applies to Hungary as well, since the parties of the 20th century, i.e. Fidesz and the Socialist Party have grown from the same litter, they are parts of the political elite which has failed in Orbán’s opinion.”
In 2007, Fidesz and the Socialists jointly voted for the Lisbon treaty which is the primary cause of the EU’s current situation and the parties of the 20th century dissolved the border guard service which the country so sorely needs now.
The fall of this elite is demonstrated by the rise of anti-establishment parties all over Europe from Austria through Great Britain and France to Germany. The fall of this elite and the rise of the new, anti-establishment political forces will soon reach Hungary, too.
“The problem is that the crisis of the elites has turned into a crisis of democracy by now. Large masses of people clearly and obviously have different intentions than what is suggested and done by the traditional elites,” Viktor Orbán concluded, although he did not mean himself or members of his own circle who became billionaires in a few years.
