Wizz Air will resume its air service between Budapest and Tel Aviv from 28 May, following an improvement in the security situation, the airline announced on Wednesday.

Wizz Air continues to closely monitor the developments

The decision, the company said, follows the latest guidance from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and reflects its ongoing cooperation with international and local authorities, including aviation and security bodies, as well as its commitment to ensuring safe operations.

The airline added that it continues to monitor developments closely and remains in regular contact with aviation safety agencies, security authorities and government bodies. It also noted that operations are kept under constant review and that schedules may be adjusted in line with official industry guidance.

According to the statement, several hundred thousand tickets are already available via the Wizz Air website and mobile application. Daily flights will depart Budapest at 5 a.m., reconnecting Ferenc Liszt International Airport with Ben Gurion Airport and restoring one of the region’s most important tourist and economic routes after a three-month suspension.

With the resumption of its Tel Aviv services, the airline further strengthens its position as Israel’s leading low-cost carrier, while consolidating its role across Central and Eastern Europe and beyond. The company currently operates more than 1,000 routes and aims to carry 80 million passengers across its network in 2026.
