There are things without which our life would be boring and monotonous. There are memories that you want to keep in your memory for a long time. There are sensations, like winning at NationalCasino, that you always want to feel. There are places whose charm fills us with warmth and light, making the world a little better. Hungary is one of those amazing places. This country has everything for outdoor enthusiasts and for those who want to soak up the beach.

We have collected 17 reasons so that you can be sure of this.

The Atmosphere of Harmony and Charm of East Paris

Budapest combines the beauty of West Berlin with the charm of Paris and London. The historical part of Budapest is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Real Goulash Soup

This first and second course is the culinary signature of Hungary. Traditionally, goulash soup is served in the freshest brown bread or in small bowls. Hearty and insanely delicious!

The Bastion That Did Not Survive a Single Battle

The Fisherman’s Bastion was erected in Budapest at the beginning of the 20th century as part of the architectural ensemble of the Royal Palace. Previously, there was a fish trade in this place. Seven towers, made in the form of dwellings – tents of nomadic Magyar tribes – founders of the Hungarian state, give an unusual look to the building.

Museum Expositions That You Can Enjoy

Marzipan in Hungary is not only a cake decoration. This is real art from edible plasticine. Here, craftsmen can make anything out of it: build architectural structures and mold people. Such masterpieces are a pity. The most outstanding ones end up in the marzipan museum, but in order to renew the collection, they are then eaten.

The Majestic Beauty of Parliament

A real architectural wonder is the Parliament building on the banks of the Danube. Its power and grace are mesmerizing. This symbol of the independence and unity of the Hungarian nation keeps the Sacred Crown under its dome, which is more than 1000 years old.

Hungarian Own Sea

The reason for national pride is the largest lake in Central Europe – Balaton. A nature reserve, sanatoriums, a resort area, sailing – why not the sea?

Old Chain Bridge Over the Danube

Once hilly Buda and flat Pest were separate cities. Today the historical parts of the Hungarian capital are connected by 8 handsome bridges. The Chain Bridge is one of the most beloved by the locals; they affectionately call it “The Old Lady“. Every year on November 20, they celebrate his birthday.

Spicy Hungarian Salami

The town of Szeged is the birthplace of the world-famous salami. The air here is literally saturated with piquant meat aromas. This is a real paradise for meat-eaters and spicy food lovers.

The Longest Trams in the World

Hungarian machine builders are clearly not deprived of imagination. In addition to the oldest metro in Europe, with wooden carriages still running along the yellow line, Budapest has a cogwheel railway and trams over 50 meters long (the longest in the world).

Medieval Streets Under Tiled Roofs

Small cobbled streets with colorful houses always appear suddenly. A large noisy metropolis in an instant turns into a quiet and cozy town where it is good to wander together.

Unique Cave Church

The unique cave church of Paulin monks, which has been operating for almost 800 years, is carved into the rock. According to one of the legends, the first Hungarian king, Saint Stephen, healed people there.

Thermal Springs and Baths

The Hungarian capital is home to the largest spa center in Europe. Mint and vanilla saunas, hot thermal springs, outdoor pools – everything you need for a good rest and recovery. The most famous baths are Széchenyi and Gellért, which are accessible to visitors all year round and in any weather.

Hungarian Rolls

Local bakeries, city markets and fairs sell delicious and unusual–looking hot pastries – kyurteskalach. With chocolate, cinnamon, coconut flakes, hazelnut sprinkles … lick your fingers.

Unforgettable Sunsets in Tihany

The Tihany Peninsula is a real natural treasure in Hungary, famous for its lavender fields. If you manage to be here at sunset during the flowering period, you will want to come back here again.

Tokay Vineyards

Louis XIV spoke of Tokaj wine: “King of wines, wine of kings.” Mount Tokaj, located in the northern part of the country, is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Beginning in the 13th century, Tokaj vineyards have been producing honey dessert wines, which were highly valued by the greats of Beethoven, Voltaire and Goethe. Even in the text of the Hungarian anthem, these vineyards are mentioned.

Paprika of All Shades and Tastes

Paprika in Hungary is an integral part of the diet. She is here for every taste and color: sweet, salty, spicy, bitter; green, red, white; ground, dried, boiled, canned…

The Oldest but Advanced Zoo

Budapest Zoo is one of the oldest in Europe but keeps up with the times.

There are no traditional trellises here, and you can communicate with some animals in their enclosures. For example, little kangaroos move freely along the paths, not at all afraid of visitors. They seem to be challenging us!
