The US Embassy in Hungary commemorated the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks on Friday together with members of the Hungarian police and fire services.

Chargé d’Affaires Caroline Savage and members of the embassy community took part in the remembrance ceremony, honouring the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives in the attacks 25 years ago.
“We remember together because we grieved together,” the embassy said, highlighting the close cooperation between Hungary and the United States in addressing the major terrorism challenges that followed 9/11.
The US flag at the embassy was lowered to half-staff in the morning, in line with the practice at American installations around the world. Embassy staff also observed a moment of silence for the victims. “We will never forget,” the embassy concluded.
