Orbán cabinet raises terror threat level: heightened security measures at Budapest Airport
The Hungarian government has raised the country’s terror threat level in response to the US-Israeli war against Iran, Deputy Interior Minister Bence Rétvári announced.

More police officers will now be visible at key infrastructure sites, including Budapest Airport and the roads leading into the capital.
Mr Rétvári said the measures would bolster security at police facilities storing weapons, with regular patrols ordered at sites critical to the state’s functioning and the population’s supply chain.
There will also be an enhanced police presence on major public thoroughfares, in crowd-gathering areas, and at the terminals, entrances, and access roads of Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport, where a constant police presence is expected. Officers will conduct random checks at internal Schengen borders, he added.
Police checks will be carried out on roads into Budapest, while enhanced protection will be provided at certain embassies, Mr Rétvári listed. “I emphasise that these are all preventive measures by the police to protect Hungary’s peace and security (…) and we ask for the patience and cooperation of citizens,” the politician said.
Orban is preparing the conditions to cancel the election in order to hang onto power. It starts with whipping up hysteria among the public about an external enemy which in this case is Ukraine. We have less than six weeks to go but at some point Orban possibly in collusion with Russia may carry out a false flag attack on some kind of installation be it an energy facility or airport, etc. He will then declare a state of emergency which will give him the legal ability to cancel the election. Orban is in a bind though because if he does this it will mean complete isolation from the EU, likely Article 7 procedures enacted, no EU funds, a crashing forint and economic catastrophe. The public will revolt but he may chance it because if he loses it means a dismantling of his mafia state and likely prosecution of himself and so many others for corruption. His daughter and son-in-law have already set up residence in the US. That will likely be the place where Orban goes in exile. We are on the cusp of a system change and the Fidesz elite are soiling their pants in fear.
