Attention! Payment is required for parking in specific areas of Budapest even today!
While it’s a cherished Budapest tradition to have free parking during the Christmas festivities, this measure came into effect this morning and will be in place until 1 January.
Nevertheless, there are exceptions, as highlighted by portfolio.hu. The following areas in Budapest require parking fees:
Buda Castle District (1st district):
- Dísz Square
- A segment of Hunyadi János Street between Szabó Ilonka Street and Dísz Square
- A segment of Palota Street between Lovas Street and Dísz Square
Margaret Island
- Northern parking zone and hotel car parks
Rákóczi Square basement garage
P+R car parks:
- Újpest-Városkapu,
- Hűvösvölgy P1,
- Kőbánya-Kispest
- KÖKI Terminál,
- Etele P1 and P2
- Őrmező P1 and P2,
- Pillangó Street
- Örs vezér Square
