Central funding for disability care to be increased in 2019
Central funding for services helping disabled people in Hungary will be increased by 10 percent next year to 1.16 billion forints (EUR 3.6m), the government commissioner for strategic social affairs said on Monday.
Hungary’s more than 600,000 people living with a disability, including the blind and the deaf, the physically and visually impaired, the mentally disabled and people with autism, receive care from 13 national specialised organisations, Zsolt Nyitrai told a press conference.
Government spending on disability care will double next year compared with 2010, he said.
In 2010, eight care services received a total of 522 million forints in central funding, Nyitrai noted.
