CNN: These are the best luxury bars in Budapest

Young travellers and bachelor parties tend to choose Budapest for its vibrant and diverse ruin bar scene. Not that many people are aware of the interesting and up-and-coming luxury bar scene in the Hungarian capital. CNN wants to change this.

CNN Travel recently published an article written by Nathan Kay which collects Budapest’s best luxury bars. Kay believes that “while the Hungarian capital’s ruin bars offer a unique experience, the luxury bar scene here is second to none.”

St. Andrea Wine & Skybar

St. Andrea Wine & Skybar can be accessed through Vörösmarty Square. This rooftop bar is a fabulous drinking spot both during summer and winter. The delicious Irish coffees and the wide variety of signature cocktails will surely entice anyone to stay for another round. The bar delivers an all-round view of the Budapest skyline.

KOLLÁZS Brasserie & Bar

Kollázs Brasserie & Bar is located on the ground floor of the Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace Budapest, overlooking the Chain Bridge and the Danube River. The concept behind KOLLÁZS is to capture the dynamic spirit of the city: historic yet contemporary, timeless yet fresh, glamorous yet relaxed. The chef is Árpád Győrffy.

Boutiq’Bar

Boutiq Bar is an excellent cocktail bar with a strong London vibe. It is famous for its special concoctions, and it was previously voted one of the top 50 cocktail bars in the world. The ambience is already worth checking out, with the windowless space and the scarlet-hued room setting the tone for the night. Choosing a cocktail will not be an easy task as the bartenders are very creative, reimagining the classics, too.

High Note Skybar

High Note Skybar is located on the rooftop of Aria Hotel Budapest. Its incredible location makes it a city favourite. It overlooks Saint Stephen’s Basilica. The bar’s atmosphere combines the best elements of historic and modern Budapest. The bar changes its theme twice a year. The current one is Legends & Myths. High Note Skybar was chosen to be one of the best rooftop bars in the world by Condé Nast Traveler.

Black Swan Budapest

You can turn to your favourites here or trust the bartenders to surprise you with something unique. For instance, you can trust the staff to entertain you with some special drinks including pálinka, an excellent Hungarian fruit brandy. Black Swan is one of the most stylish bars in the city with an art deco style, located in the Jewish Quarter.
