Film stars swarm Hungary: Bobby Ewing of Dallas, Linda Purl, and 365 Days’ Italian heartthrob spotted
A year ago, we reported that Bobby Ewing (Patrick Duffy) from the Dallas series filmed his latest project in Hungary. But Duffy did not just fly in for work and head straight back to North America. He stayed on to explore our country with his gorgeous partner, American actress Linda Purl. Yesterday, the couple was seen dining in a popular restaurant in Miskolc. Meanwhile, the Italian heartthrob Michele Morrone, best known for his role in 365 Days and its sequels, is also currently in Hungary.
Patrick Duffy returns to Hungary
According to the Hungarian tabloid Blikk, Duffy recently visited the renowned Végállomás Bistro & Wine in Miskolc, where he enjoyed traditional Hungarian dishes such as Hortobágy-style meat-filled pancakes (you can find a similar recipe HERE) and Hungarian Mangalica steak crusted with parmesan. Duffy and Purl also sampled Hungarian pálinka, a local fruit brandy.
The 75-year-old Dallas star and his partner ordered a tasting platter featuring local cheeses, meats, and bread. For dessert, they chose “The Waking Forest”, a dish composed of dark chocolate, sour cream ice cream, pistachios, and blackcurrants. They also tried quince pálinka. The restaurant shared some photos of their visit on its Facebook page.
Duffy and Purl are in Hungary to promote the Dallas star’s new film, Lepattanó. Duffy was, therefore, a guest of honour at the 20th CineFest International Film Festival in Miskolc this week. We previously reported that *Lepattanó* is a romantic comedy starring Péter Scherer. It was producer Csaba Vékes who had the idea to approach Patrick Duffy with an offer to play a Hungarian billionaire patron who amassed his wealth abroad. The producers wrote him a lengthy letter explaining how much Hungarians loved *Dallas* and his character. Since Duffy liked the screenplay and the character, he agreed, even though he had never been to the former Eastern Bloc before.
Meet Patrick Duffy in Budapest this weekend
The shooting started last September, and Patrick Duffy was amazed by how much Hungarians adore him. Eager to explore Budapest with Linda Purl, the couple visited Matthias Church for a concert, spent days at the Opera House, and remarked that Budapest should never have skyscrapers because if such tall buildings were constructed in the Hungarian capital, nobody would be able to see the beautiful Danube.
According to Blikk, the new comedy will premiere in Hungarian cinemas on 26th September. However, there will be a pre-premiere screening on 14th September at Budapest’s Cinema City Arena, where you can meet Patrick Duffy. The film is set to start at 8 p.m.

Another star also in Hungary
Italian actor Michele Morrone is well-known for his portrayal of Massimo Torricelli in the 2020 erotic romantic drama 365 Days and its sequels, 365 Days: This Day and The Next 365 Days, released in 2022. Interestingly, Morrone decided to pursue acting after watching a Harry Potter film at the age of 11. He began taking lead roles in short Italian films, but it was his portrayal of mafia crime boss Massimo Torricelli in 365 Days, a Polish erotic romantic drama available on Netflix, that brought him international recognition. Morrone is also a professional guitarist and launched a luxury beachwear brand for women, AurumRoma, in 2020. He designs his own collections in collaboration with fashion designer Chiara Pollano.
