This is the first time a Hungarian football player could secure a prestigious trophy in the leading European soccer championships since the era of Ferenc Puskás and the Golden Team (Mighty Magyars). The 24-year-old midfielder, who married Borka Buzsik in March (details HERE), played a key role in winning the 20th Premier League trophy for Liverpool during the entire season.

A miraculous career

Szoboszlai’s first club was the Videoton (Székesfehérvár). Afterwards, he went to the Austrian Liefering, with which he won the championships. In 2021, he went to RB Leipzig, where he became a crucial team member and secured the German Championships by scoring a goal even in the final against Eintracht Frankfurt. That had not happened for the past 37 years.

That is when Liverpool paid EUR 70 million for him and gave him the legendary Steven Gerrard Nr. 8 shirt. Under the leadership of the Dutch Arne Slot, he became a core member of the squad. Congratulations, Dominik!
