Economy minister acknowledged for fostering ties between Hungary, Kazakhstan
Budapest (MTI) – Economy Minister Mihaly Varga has received an award in recognition of his work to forge closer ties between Hungary and Kazakhstan and preserve Cuman-Kipchak traditions.
The award was presented to the minister at a ceremony at the embassy of Kazakhstan in Budapest on Wednesday.
Accepting the award, Varga said Kazakhstan was Hungary’s strategic partner and identified potential future cooperation in the farming, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, machinery and tourism industries.
Varga has been deputy director of the Hungarian-Kazakh Friendship Society since 1997. He is also the co-chair of the inter-governmental Hungarian-Kazakh Joint Economic Committee.
