Budapest (MTI) – Funding in higher education will be increased by 7 billion forints (EUR 25m) to 198,1 billion next year, the human resources ministry’s parliamentary state secretary said on Saturday.
This includes extra funding of 5.3 billion forints to be provided for buying out disadvantageous public-private partnerships (PPP), Bence Retvari said in a written response to opposition LMP lawmaker Istvan Ikotity’s inquiry which was published on parliament’s website.
Universities and colleges will receive an extra funding of 789 million forints for the implementation of the teachers’ career model and bonus schemes, and for ensuring free school meals.
A total of 2.2 billion forints will be allocated to boost the quality of education, support R and D and its infrastructure and promote technology transfers, Retvari said.
