Fidesz MEP: Hungary Left seeking ‘to prevent’ country’s energy independence
Hungary’s political Left wants to prevent their country from achieving energy independence, Tamás Deutsch, an MEP of ruling Fidesz, said on Friday.
All of the leftist MEPs voted earlier in the European Parliament against allowing Hungary to use available EU energy development funds for infrastructure investments in the oil industry, Deutsch said in a video message. “The Left has also voted against using funds to support nuclear energy investments,” he said, calling the Left’s moves “unacceptable”.
