Forty Hungarian Films on Screen at Bucharest Festival
Bucharest (MTI) – Around forty films will feature at the 8th Hungarian Film Week in Bucharest, organisers said on Monday.
This year’s event will be held from November 10 to 16 and dedicated to young cinematographers, the Bucharest head of the Balassi Institute told MTI.
A new annual festival in Miskolc, the Jameson Cinefest highlighting talented young filmmakers, will also be represented in the Romanian capital, Andras Laszlo Kosa said.
Further Hungarian film weeks will be organised in Timisoara (Temesvar) later this year and in Targu Mures (Marosvasarhely) and Sibiu (Nagyszeben) next year, he said.
Director Virgil Stefan Nitulescu of the Museum of the Romanian Peasant said that a Hungarian “new wave” was being born in cinematography and wished film artists an international success similar to the one that Romanian fellow producers have had recently.
