This is the 6th year they are choosing the Beauty of Hungary. Duna Television and Duna World will air the show about the competition on June 23rd.
The winner will take home prizes worth over €3100 and will win the chance to represent Hungary in one of the world’s most prestigious beauty competition’s world finale, called Miss World, which will be held in Thailand on December 7th, reports Alon.
On Wednesday, in a press conference in Budapest, they introduced this year’s competition’s 20 participants, 16 of whom will fight for a place in the world finale of Miss World. Tamás Csángó fashion designer made the crowns featuring hundreds of crystals by hand. The hosts of the show will be Lili Rókusfalvy and Gábor Alfréd “Freddie” Fehérvári.
Kata Sarka, the owner of Magyarország Szépe Kft (Beauty of Hungary), said:
“this year’s lineup is the strongest of the last couple years. Most of the girls competing have degrees or are students of a higher education facility; they lead healthy lifestyles and work out regularly.”
In the finals, the contestants will have to walk the runway in four different dresses. Besides the bikini round, they will also model traditional dresses and evening dresses as well, the last two having been designed by Péter Merő. In the so-called creative tour, the girls will be dressed by different Hungarian designers. At the end of each round, the two girls with the least points from the judges will drop out of the contest.
On June 22nd, a 30-minute ‘behind the scenes’ movie will air to show the preparations for the competition. The 20 chosen girls went to a preparation camp in Telki, where they took part in smaller contests for two weeks. In the televised contest, only 16 out of the 20 will appear and fight for the crown. The competition will also award the two ladies-in-waiting.
Kata Sarka stated that one of the most important missions of the Miss World competition is to raise awareness of social responsibilities. The future winner will have to represent her chosen charities at the world finale. For this reason, during the preparation camp, the contestants had to present their charity project in a competition called “Miss Charity“; then, they each voted and chose the most appealing initiative.
Those interested can find all the information on the competition’s website and can support the finalists with their vote as well. The girl with the most votes will get “The most beautiful smile” title.
