At 8 AM on Wednesday, the score limits to get into Hungarian universities were revealed on felvi.hu.

The minimum score limits are determined by the higher education institutions, with the collaboration of the Education Office, approved by the Ministry of Human Resources, according to 24.hu.

A course’s required score depends on the capacity of the institute, as well the number of applicants and their results. The more applicants with high results, the higher the score limit. Universities can decide if they want to set the limit higher than the required minimum; in that case, it is possible that a course does not take advantage of its full capacity.

Prior score limits have changed a lot

According to eduline.hu, similarly to previous years, prior limits were set in 41 courses, many of which had to be raised:

  • technical manager course required 360 points instead of the last 320,
  • at some universities, the international management course’s score limit was increased from 420 to 465,
  • to get accepted to a psychology course, some students needed 459 or 460 points instead of 435,
  • for some communication- and media studies courses the limit went from 440 to 462 points,
  • and in some institutes, 408 points were needed instead of 400 to get into the tourism and hospitality course.

Top 10 bachelor courses according to eduline.hu:

  1. Business and management: BCE (Hungarian, Budapest): 449, BGE PSZK (Hungarian): 400, ELTE: 400.
