This year, the Amarena cottage cheese mousse of Cocรณ7 Chocolate Shop and Workshop won the prestigious “Dessert of Budapest” title. The general public can taste this delicacy for the first time at this yearโs Sweet Days Budapest Chocolate and Sweets Festival, held between 17 September and 19 September at St. Stephenโs Basilica.
The Sweet Days Budapest Chocolate and Sweets Festival is Europeโs 4th largest outdoor sweets-themed event where visitors can taste the delicacies of the best chocolate manufacturers and confectioneries. The event was launched to provide Hungarian confectioners with an opportunity to present their most delicious creations to the general public, 24 writes.
President of the Hungarian Chocolate and Sweets Association, Csaba Rebrus, explained that the association aims to change Hungarian sweets consumption habits and move toward quality-focused sweets consumption. They have organised the Budapest Dessert Competition for the fourth time with the primary goal of
making quality Hungarian sweets reflecting the countryโs traditions available to more and more people and emphasising that these desserts occupy a prominent place in Hungarian gastronomy.
The number one priority of the professional jury was to choose a cake that is delicious and can be easily prepared from ingredients available all year round. The participants appeared anonymously in front of the jury, and the main ingredients were determined before the competition; this year, confectioners had to use chocolate and cottage cheese.
