80 Hungarian films on Annecy festival programme – VIDEO

Eighty Hungarian films will be screened at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival starting on Sunday, the National Film Institute (NFI) told MTI.

The one-week festival will pay tribute to Hungary’s animation film history, which goes back 111 years, the institute said, adding that 180 Hungarian participants will attend “the greatest international event of the animation film industry”.

The programme will present “Hungary’s film industry, film makers, its rich heritage, studios, schools, and young talents”, NFI said.

“Hungarian animation is on an upward path, never have as many features been made as in the past five years, and all of them have found their audience,” Csaba Káel, government commissioner for film industry development, said in the statement.
