Hungarians among the best world music albums
The latest list of the 20 best albums of world music by the World Music Charts Europe was shared a couple of days ago, lining up the works of two Hungarian musicians, writes index.hu. The album of Ágnes Herczku recorded live at Womex last year, and Most jöttem by Félix Lajkó were chosen to be included on the list.
The world’s most prestigious world music chart is based on the votes of 50 radio professionals of 24 countries. They independently choose from hundreds of albums released by European record labels.
And now two Hungarians’ albums were among the bests. The album, Most jöttem by Félix Lajkó was already on the list last month, but July brought another Hungarian success as Live at Womex by Ágnes Herczku became included as well.
Index writes about last year’s Womex in Budapest that it was somewhat similar to Sziget Festival, and had a huge significance, for it was the very first time Womex, regarded as the biggest world music event in the world, was held in East Central Europe. Besides, Ágnes Herczku and her band completely sold out the event.
