Hungary, French justice minister discuss cooperation
Hungarian Justice Minister László Trócsányi met his French counterpart Nicole Belloubet to discuss justice cooperation among EU member states with special focus on victim protection, in Paris on Friday.
They agreed on the need for tightening criminal codes with more focus given in particular to the area of victim protection, Trócsányi told MTI after the talks.
The minister said he briefed his colleague about the new codes of procedures introduced in Hungary.
The French minister briefed him about measures aimed at reducing overcrowding in French prisons, he added.
During his two-day visit to France, Trócsányi held talks with Jean-Marc Sauve, vice-president of the Council of State, about the French rules on appointing administrative judges.
He also held talks with the presidents of the French National Assembly’s and Senate’s EU affairs committees.
Trócsányi met President Emmanuel Macron’s chief diplomacy advisor to discuss topical EU issues and gave a lecture about Hungary’s current politics at the French Institute of International Relations.
