On Friday, 6 June, significant traffic restrictions will be in place around Puskás Aréna in Budapest due to the Hungary vs. Sweden national football match, scheduled to kick off at 7:30 PM. The Budapest Transport Centre (BKK) advises all attendees to use public transport instead of driving, as parking options near the stadium will be extremely limited.

Due to the match, certain public transport lines will be rerouted or skip stops during the road closures. Here are the main changes:

From 4:00 PM:

  • All buses running along Thököly Road will stop at Reiner Frigyes Park and Stefánia Ăşt/Thököly Ăşt stops.

From 4:30 PM to 10:30 PM:

  • Bus 30 will be rerouted and will not stop at Verseny Street. Toward Káposztásmegyer, it will use the 30A stop at Reiner Frigyes Park.
  • Trolleybuses 75 and 77 will bypass their Puskás Ferenc Stadion stops on Kerepesi Road and serve the Hungária Boulevard stops instead.

Between 9:00 PM and 10:00 PM:

  • Trolleybus 75 will operate via Thököly Road and Hungária Boulevard, skipping all stops on Stefánia Road.
  • Trolleybus 77 will skip several stops, including the Puskás Ferenc Stadion terminus, Szobránc köz, and Egressy Ăşt/Stefánia Ăşt.

Bus 130 will depart from the same terminus as bus 95 near the stadium.

BKK strongly recommends using frequent and reliable public transport options, especially:

  • Metro lines M2 and M4
  • Tram line 1
  • MOL Bubi public bike-sharing system

On foot, the stadium can be easily accessed from:

  • Puskás Ferenc Stadion metro station (M2)
  • Keleti Railway Station via Verseny Street and DĂłzsa György Road

From the city centre, take M2 or M4 metro to Keleti, then walk. From Örs vezér tere, M2 will take you directly to Puskás Ferenc Stadion.

For tram users:

  • Stefánia entrance gates (IX., X., XIII.) can be accessed from Egressy Ăşt/Hungária körĂşt stop
  • DĂłzsa György Road entrance gates (III., VI.) are accessible from the Puskás Ferenc Stadion tram stop

Bus passengers along Thököly Road can reach the entrances via Reiner Frigyes Park and Stefánia út/Thököly út stops.

Use BudapestGO to plan ahead

To navigate the changes and avoid delays, BKK recommends using the BudapestGO app for real-time travel updates, route planning, and digital ticketing. MOL Bubi docking stations are available at nearby metro stations and streets for those who prefer to cycle.
