Hungary’s security went far beyond protecting its borders

Since illegal migration traces its roots to Africa, Hungary’s defence minister said he had held talks with his counterparts from Kenya and Niger in Brussels with the aim of “protecting the Hungarian people and Europe”.

Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky said in a video posted on Facebook on Wednesday that Hungary’s security went far beyond protecting its borders, and he noted “the constant pressure of illegal migration” at the country’s southern borders.

He said this pressure could be traced back to Africa, so it was “highly important to monitor what’s going on in these countries”.

As well as the meeting of EU defence and foreign ministers, a security policy conference is taking place in Brussels, attended by representatives of many African countries, he noted.

It is shocking that it falls to this gentleman to be doing this. The entire Europe, led by the hallowed “European Union,” should be pulling out all the stops to staunch illegal migration. But they’re doing next to nothing. Indeed, boats laden with illegal aliens are streaming across the Mediterranean every single day, without hindrance, fear or disincentive. It’s almost as if the powers that be WANT Europe to be flooded with illegals, who will change its character forever. Nah, that can’t possibly be it, right!? That’s just a populist, far-Right conspiracy theory!

Happily conflating legal migration, refugees and economic migration, once again. And somehow, I’d be surprised at people from the African continent turning up at our Southern borders.

Even if they would – for whatever reason – they would just move through Hungary to the rest of the EU. Not much appetite for staying here (Ukrainian refugees being a case in point – only 35’000 out of the “fully” 2 million that came across our border stayed in Hungary – https://www.statista.com/statistics/1312584/ukrainian-refugees-by-country/ ).

Frontex (the European Border and Coast Guard Agency) is actually doing quite a lot – worth a read https://frontex.europa.eu/

You may remember Frontex – they pulled out of Hungary for a bit after we were caught systemically perpetrating human rights abuses at the border … Nothing to be proud of.
